The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, developing an externally funded research program, and providing service to the department, university, and profession.

Responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, developing an externally funded research program, and providing service to the department, university, and profession. Teaching of related courses in the curriculum may also be required depending upon the candidate’s area of expertise and the needs of the department. Participation in the senior design course is expected.

Expertise in one or more of the following areas are expected:
· Climate change impacts on water resources and related infrastructure
· Air quality and pollution control
· Water quality and/or environmental process modeling; fate and transport modeling
· Groundwater engineering
· Environmental informatics (big data, large-scale geospatial modeling, sensors and sensor network, intelligent engineering, and cyber physical systems in environmental engineering)

 

Minimum Requirements: BS in an engineering field; Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field by the start date of employment; potential for interdisciplinary research activities; potential to develop and maintain an externally-funded research program leading to national and international recognition; potential for excellence in teaching and scholarly activities; potential to teach core environmental engineering courses and develop new courses related to their area of expertise; excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Requirements: B.S. in Civil Engineering or closely related field; Professional Engineer (PE) licensure; industry experience; a track record of excellence in teaching; evidence of grantsmanship, research, and scholarly activities; evidence of professional and scholarly service.
